NYCEFT Quarterly Seminar

Self of the Therapist: Bringing the Therapist into the Process

As EFT Therapists, we are tracking and managing many variables during a therapy session, including each client’s family history, attachment style and behavior patterns to present moment experiences and more. Additionally, at any moment in the process, we may have the added challenge of managing our own experience in the room. Karen Giunta, LMFT will present an overview of working with clients from the inside out, bringing the therapist’s self into the therapeutic process. Utilizing an exploration of her own attachment style, relational dynamics, and sense of self, Karen will demonstrate how learning to identify and manage her experience with mindfulness and self compassion has contributed to her EFT learning process and her growth to a balanced wholeness in her professional and personal life. Plans for this seminar include a didactic presentation, video reviews of client sessions and self of therapist supervision.

When: Friday, April 5, 3-5PM
Where: Birch Family Services
104 West 29th Street (at Sixth Ave.)
2nd Floor Training Room
New York, NY
