Demystifying the Softening Event - Live & Uncut with Brent Bradley, Ph.D

We will be viewing a portion of: Demystifying the Softening Event - Live & Uncut with Brent Bradley, Ph.D. In this video, you see a couple go through two softening events with helpful subtitles explaining what is happening in real time throughout. Two additional commentary tracks provide extensive training on mastering this crucial part of the approach. Brent Bradley, PhD., is a Certified EFT Trainer and an Associate Professor. He has published extensive research on the EFT Softening Event.

Discussant and Facilitator:

Julia Belotserkovsky, Ph.d.

Julia is a devoted practitioner of Emotionally-Focused Therapy. She has extensive experience working with couples and advanced training in EFT. Julia is dedicated to helping couples develop a sense of emotional safety by staying open to and aware of one’s own emergent experience and curious about the partner's emotional reality. She is a true believer in the healing power of a secure bond and helps her clients get to know their emotional and relational landscape, experience their emotions in the safety of the therapy hour and develop trust and knowledge that their important person sees their emotional experience and cares deeply about it. Julia is attuned to the impact of trauma, neglect and attachment history on one’s relational patterns. She completed her doctoral training at the New School for Social Research where she trained with Jeremy Safran in relational psychotherapy and received advanced training in clinical applications of attachment theory from Howard and Miriam Steele. Julia completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at CPID with Dr. Zoya Simakhodskaya, where she received in-depth advanced training in EFT. Julia is a part-time faculty and a Clinical Associate at the New School for Social Research where she teaches courses like "Emotions in Psychotherapy" and supervises graduate students. Julia has a full-time private practice in midtown.
