Working Successfully with Same Sex Couples

We will be viewing a portion of: Working Successfully with the Same Sex Couples. This DVD demonstrates in two live sessions with Dr. Sue Johnson how the power of EFT's attachment frame and interventions are equally relevant for gay and heterosexual couples. In this portion,Dr. Sue Johnson is working with a lesbian couple. We will be highlighting EFT stage one (recap) and stage two work- pursuer softening. This video includes voice over commentary and a panel discussion with three EFT therapists about responding to the unique challenges faced by same sex couples. In our discussion we will focus on the attachment issues unique to LGBT populations including internalized homophobia, coming out, and sexuality.
Facilitator and Moderator:
Steffani Brandenburg, LCSW, is a certified EFT Supervisor & Therapist. She has over 25 years of experience working with individuals, families and couples as well as extensive experience providing clinical consultation. Prior to working in full -time private practice, Steffani served as Clinical Director of several community mental health and drug and alcohol treatment programs on Long Island and New Jersey where she was responsible for the clinical oversight and staff training.
