Jodi Ames-FrankelJodi Ames-Frankel, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist in practice in Mount Kisco, NY specializing in the treatment of trauma, grief, depression and anxiety in couples and individuals. She is trained in EMDR, and is a certified EFT therapist and supervisor. Both as a clinician for the FDNY Counseling Unit and privately, Jodi has counseled hundreds of NYC firefighters and their family members since 9/11/01.

Travis AtkinsonTravis W. Atkinson, LCSW, is the Director of Harmony Connections of New York, Inc. He is a certified EFT couples therapist and supervisor, a certified Gottman Method couples therapist, a certified Schema therapist, supervisor & trainer, and a certified Group psychotherapist. Travis has trained couples therapists nationally and internationally for many years. He is a supervisor and trainer at the Schema Therapy Institute in New York, and is co-author of the Schema Mode Inventory (SMI). He recently published “Schema Therapy for Couples: Healing Partners in a Relationship” in the Handbook of Schema Therapy. 

A. Sue BrennerA. Susan Brenner, LMFT is a marriage and family therapist and a certified EFT supervisor & therapist. She has 30 years of experience and a private practice in both NY City and Westport, CT. Sue specializes in counseling couples and individuals with relationship distress and intimacy issues. Some areas of expertise are: trauma, addiction, co-dependency, anxiety and depression, and men's issues. She is also an experienced and passionate supervisor. Sue has written two books on Rosen Method, a body-centered psychotherapy.

Debra BurrellDebra Burrell, LCSW is a NYS licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years experience. She specializes in high conflict couples. Debra works with individuals
and couples whose relationships are under stress. In addition to her Manhattan based psychotherapy practice, Debra has served as the Director of a Mental Health Clinic for trauma and is a frequent guest expert on national television shows.

Trevor Mahony Crow, LMFT
is a certified EFT therapist in private practice in Southport, CT., with a specialty in couples counseling. Her practice also includes individuals and adolescents. A frequent speaker on communication and healthy relationships, Trevor is also the host of the weekly live talk radio show "Keeping Connected with Trevor Crow" about developing and maintaining healthy emotional connections on WSTC-WNLK in Fairfield County, CT. Trevor also holds a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University.

Jeffrey R. Conway, LCSW-R is a therapist in private practice in New York City.  He is trained in Emotion Focused Therapy and holds certification in Schema Therapy, EMDR,  and Group Therapy.  He works with both individuals and couples and leads a group for Gay Men and a group for Male Survivors of Childhood sexual abuse.  He is also a Schema Therapy institute supervisor and leads The Schema Therapy Trainer and Supervisor Resource Network.

Angela M. DeCandia, LCSW
is a certified EFT therapist and supervisor, with a private practice in Montclair, NJ, where she specializes in treating couples affected by trauma, depression, chronic illness, and complicated grief.  Angela also works extensively with couples and families struggling with infertility, infant loss and adoption. She provides EFT supervision and consultation to therapists in NJ and CT. Angela teaches yoga and conducts workshops in emotional intimacy through partner yoga. 

Shelly DellShelly Dell, LMFT, LMHC 
is a marriage and family therapist, mental health counselor and a certified EFT supervisor and therapist. She specializes in working with families and in treating post-traumatic stress disorder. In addition to being a yoga instructor and therapist, she is a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). Her private practice is in MA.

Malka Engel, LCSW is a certified psychoanalyst and supervisor with 20 years of experience in individual and couples therapy. She is trained in EMDR and has had advanced training in EFT for couples.  Malka has presented at the International Nefesh Conference on EFT.  Her clinical work includes crisis prevention through pre-marital counseling as well as working with individuals and couples diagnosed with Adult ADHD.  She has a private practice in Manhattan and in Long Island.


George Faller George Faller, LMFT is a retired Lieutenant of the NYC Fire Department, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in New York and Connecticut and an Approved Supervisor for AAMFT. He is the founder and president of the New York Center for EFT. As an EFT Trainer, George teaches several classes at Ackerman Institute for the Family and is the director of training at the Center for Hope and Renewal in Greenwich, CT. The experience George brings to the EFT community is vast, as he works as a marriage consultant and conference leader to the US Military, FDNY, Wall Street executives, and trains therapists across the U.S. and abroad. Specializing in trauma, EFFT, and self-of-the-therapist issues, George is committed to bringing EFT to underprivileged populations and pushing the leading edge of EFT.

Stacey Fredericks, LCSW  is a clinical social worker who works with individuals, families and couples. She has worked with these populations for over 30 years. She also provides learning and healthy development-related consults to nursery schools. She is on the faculty (Psychiatry) at NYU/Bellevue Hospital and teaches in the Family Studies Program.

Barbara George, LCSW  has had advanced training in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy as well as EFT. She has maintained a private practice in Mt. Kisco, N.Y. for over 25 years, specializing in work with individuals and couples. Having been involved in its design and implementation, she also has had extensive experience in working with teenagers and families in a specialized high school program geared to meeting the needs of emotionally vulnerable students.
Janice Gross, LCSW is trained in EFT, and marital and family therapy from Ackerman Institute for the Family. She has 30 years experience and is currently in full-time private practice in Staten Island where she specializes in couples, families, adolescents, eating disorders, and a mindfullness approach to anxiety and depressive disorders. She has taught on the Faculty of SUNY Binghamton and NYU School of Social Work; as well as served as Field Instructor for students from NYU and Columbia University.

Dianne Kane, DSW, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in the treatment of couples dealing with trauma, loss and life transitions. As Assistant Director of Counseling for the NYC Fire Department she has worked with hundreds of couples dealing with the impact of trauma, loss and retirement on their relationship.  She is on the faculty of Hunter School of Social Work and is the co-author of FDNY Crisis Counseling and Healing Together: A Couple's Guide to Coping with Trauma and Post-traumatic Stress. Her practice is in lower Manhattan.

Elana Katz, LCSW, LMFT

is a certified EFT therapist, supervisor and trainer, is a senior faculty member at the Ackerman Institute for the Family where she supervises advanced family therapy trainees and directs the family mediation program. Her private practice is in Manhattan. A member of the American Family Therapy Academy and a board member of the New York Association for Collaborative Professionals, she has presented her work both nationally and internationally, and has been quoted by the New York Times, the Associated Press, National Public Radio and other media outlets.

Judith KellnerJudith Kellner, LCSW
is a certified EFT therapist and approved supervisor candidate in full-time private practice in NYC, specializing in cross-cultural and interfaith relationships as well as transmission of trauma and relationship trauma. Following 9/11, Judith helped first responders and their families in her role as a volunteer clinician and member of the advisory board with NYDCC. Her experience in cultural transition spans Israel, Europe, Asia and North America. Judith has presented internationally on couples issues relating to cross culture, transmission of trauma and EFT.  Judith’s article “Gender Perspective in Cross-Cultural Couples” appeared in the Clinical Social Work Journal.

Gilbert McCurdy, MBA, LCSW
is a psychotherapist and certified EFT therapist with a private practice in New York City. He has post-graduate certifications in EMDR, Sex Addiction (CSAT) as well as Schema Therapy and Group Therapy. Mr. McCurdy also holds a Masters in Business Administration. He works with individuals, couples and leads therapy groups for Gay Men. His practice focuses on sexual compulsivity, intimacy and relationship problems, alcohol/substance abuse, Al-Anon/ACOA issues, co-dependency, personality issues, childhood traumas, anxiety, depression and career issues.

Stephen McDonnell, LCSW,
is a certified EFT therapist and supervisor. Stephen has over 20 years of experience Stephen also practices AEDP with individuals. His private practice is in Manhattan.
Benjamin G. Seaman, LCSW-R is a certified EFT couple therapist with training in AEDP, relational psychoanalysis and NLP, and is an adjunct lecturer in Social Work Practice at NYU. Mr. Seaman has a wide range of clinical experience ranging from crisis intervention, community mental health, college counseling and executive coaching. He is a member of the Mankind Project, an organization dedicated to Emotional Literacy for Men, and is Director of the Rowe Labor Day Gay Men's Retreat. Mr. Seaman regularly presents workshops around the country on relationships and creativity.

Zoya Simakhodskaya, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and certified EFT therapist, supervisor and trainer. She has a full-time practice in Chelsea, NY with adults and couples, specializing in cross-cultural and bilingual population.  In addition to her psychotherapy practice, Zoya has many years of experience providing crisis intervention in a psychiatric emergency service and continues as a voluntary faculty at NYU School of Medicine.  Zoya trains EFT therapists locally and in Russia.

Stacy, LCSW  is a certified EFT therapist and supervisor specializing in couple counseling and EFT psychotherapy connection groups.  Mary sees couples together with her husband, Parker Stacy, as a unique husband-and-wife team.  She is an approved supervisor candidate.  Her private practice is located in Greenwich, CT.

Kathy StavrianopolousKatherine Stavrianopoulos, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and certified EFT therapist and supervisor. She specializes in treating post traumatic stress disorder and issues related to trauma using EMDR. Her private practice is in NYC and Yonkers. She is also a faculty member in the Department of Counseling at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Wendy TomkielWendy Tomkiel, LCSW is a certified EFT therapist and supervisor. Her practice is located in midtown Manhattan where she provides individual, couple and family psychotherapy. Areas of specialization include: anxiety, grief, depression, trauma, infertility and adoption. Wendy is a graduate of The Ackerman Institute for the Family and an adjunct lecturer at the Hunter College School of Social Work.

Lori Weinreich, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience practicing in Poughhkeepsie, New York. She is trained to use EFT in couples and individual therapy and regularly attends EFT peer supervision groups. Lori received graduate degrees from The University of Pennsylvania and Fordham University. She is the founding chairperson for the Dutchess County Here Comes the Sun Suicide Prevention Program and also has served on numerous community mental health boards. 

Patricia WilliamsPatricia Williams, LCSW is a psychotherapist in private practice located in northern Westchester with advanced training in EFT as well as in treating trauma and post traumatic stress disorder.  Ms. Williams specializes in working with couples and families who have suffered attachment injuries and loss.  Ms. Williams brings many years experience managing and developing non profit organizations to her involvement with the NYCEFT. 

Paula Zerfoss, LICSW is a certified EFT therapist and supervisor practicing in Boston and Watertown, Massachusetts with over 25 years of experience.   Ms. Zerfoss has run a crisis intervention agency for teens and their families and received the prestigious CALEA award for her services and training provided for police officers in Chicago area police departments in the handling of domestic situations.  A former professor at Columbia College in Chicago, she is currently working on expanding the EFT model in police and other diverse communities in the Boston area.
